Solving Teenage Acne

Acne solutions involving teenagers evolve around the same basic principles in acne treatment. Being teenagers as they are, most of the acne eruptions can be associated to personal hygienic habits. There are times when teenager just refuse to take proper care of their skin or at times they may have been poorly advised on skin health in relation to personal habits, environment and nutrition.

If teenagers have been properly guided in their younger years on proper skin care, whatever acne eruptions that they have can be easily and readily treated. Most teenagers would be faced with acne starting from the age of 10 to 11 years. So just in case parents have children with face acne in the early stage, I would advise the children to take the following steps:

1. Make sure to wash your face three times a day without fail.

2. Apply a pH5.5 facial soap or solution on the face during washing BUT do not leave it too long on the face so as to avoid the skin being too dry afterwards. The neutral pH 0f 5.5 is skin freindly.

3. Consult your physician and ask for a mild dose of antibiotic to be taken once daily for a month.

4. Apply a benzoyl peroxide gel to your acne in the morning and evening after bath.

5. Ensure you take the following supplements daily to ensure proper skin maintenance:

- A multivitamin and mineral capsule once a day
- Vtamin C 1000 mg once a day
- Omega 3 Capsule 1000 mg once daily
- Evening Primrose Oil Capsule 1000 mg once daily

6. Avoid consuming sugar and its derivatives at all cost.

Practice the above steps and I assure you that acne will be eliminated acne within a month or two. It will not come back at any other time PROVIDED you adhere to the above guidelines.
